Galleria O., founded in Rome in 2009, works with Italian design of the twentieth century as well as international contemporary design. The gallery focuses on historical design from 1930 to 1970, primarily concentrating on the work of Gio Ponti, Fontana Arte and Ettore Sottsass.

For its contemporary design projects, the gallery invites international designers to rethink Italian artistic and handcrafted traditions to develop new limited-edition works commissioned and produced exclusively. Galleria O. regularly collaborates with museums and public institutions to support and promote its authors.

For Design Miami/ Basel 2014 Galleria O. has selected exceptional historical pieces designed by some of the most representative Italian designers and manufacturers, including Gio Ponti’s iconic Triennale armchair from 1951; Gino Sarfatti’s Mod. 516 table lamp dated 1948; and two Ellisse side tables from the Plurimi series dated 1976 by Gabriella Crespi.

The modern works are displayed along with pieces created exclusively for Galleria O. by contemporary designers.

At the fair, the gallery previews two unique furniture pieces created by Fernando and Humberto Campana: an exquisite marble table and an armchair in bronze. It also presents a precious coffee table by Luisa Zanibelli. Aiming to furnish an outlook on interesting Roman creative realities, on this occasion the gallery presents the first floor lamp designed by jeweler Maison Iosselliani, interpreting their iconic Black Hole Sun fringe fall, and a ceiling lamp in crystal conceived by Bevilacqua Architects as an homage to Pietro Chiesa.
