In the month of August, Sandra Lee Gallery will host a special feature summer show curated by Jenna Hans and Sandra Lee. For this occasion, we carefully selected several artists who portray inspired expressions of the spirituality of our being. The selection of artists depicts interpretations of metamorphosis. The show will begin on August 4th and the opening reception will take place on August 7th. The artists will be present at the opening reception.

Transformations of existence, realities and attainments are daily occurrences that drive us all. We integrate these transformations into the fabric of our environments, our storytelling, our culture, and our senses of being. Cain explores the fragmented nature of performance and disguise. Fabian re-examines the parameters of her materials, revealing their true abilities and translated purposefulness in a reversal of the progression from natural to man-made. Meriaux approaches the surrealist constructs of humanity in a world of allegory and intrigue. Weber uses intricate craftsmanship to extract mythological imagery from blank paper, creating stories with negative space. Each artist’s interpretations of ordinary or momentous transformations encourage deeper reading and reflection on the part of the viewer. The artists Cain, Fabian, Meriaux, and Weber, through their own distinctive processes, depict the material and spiritual evolution of metamorphosis.
