Whether depicting a wasp or an albatross, a bear or a beetle, at the beating heart of The Society of Wildlife Artists is the quest to capture the essence of that creature and its place in the world. What connects this art is the celebration of the natural world and the love of the subject.

The 51st annual exhibition of the SWLA will showcase the very best of art inspired by the natural world. This year the 'Out of the Frame' room will feature the Society’s bird migration project collaboration with the British Trust for Ornithology. Four artists spent 2 weeks in Senegal with BTO scientists looking at the wintering grounds while other members visited summer breeding grounds in the UK. The amazing journey of our summer visitors is told in the resulting work.

There will be a full programme of events including talks and practical demonstrations. This includes Portfolio day where artists can receive advice from senior SWLA members and the President’s Tour an informal event looking at key works in the show.
