Lyle O. Reitzel Gallery has been selected to participate for the third year in a row at the prestigious contemporary art fair, ‘Context Art Miami’, during the cultural tsunami that 'Art Basel Miami Beach 2014' is expected to provoke. The event taking place from December 2nd until the 7th, at Midtown Miami, Wynwood, 2901 NE 1st Ave. Miami, Fl. 33137

The gallerist Lyle O. Reitzel, once again represents Dominican Republic in this important international platform, exhibiting a unique body of works from selective vanguardist artists. Works by the currently living in NY video artist Katja Loher will be presented, as well as cuban icon Jose Bedia’s. Dominican master living in Paris José García Cordero will exhibit his latest, unpublished, controversial piece “Mexican christmas tree” (in honor to the 2014 Iguala mass disappearance). Established Haitian master Edouard Duval Carrie, and the Venezuelan creator Milton Becerra also form part of the collective, and spearheading the new generation of Dominican artists from Santo Domingo and Brooklyn, are Hulda Guzmán and Gerard Ellis.

Context is the sister fair to Art Miami dedicated to the development and reinforcement of emerging and mid-career artists. The fair’s open atmosphere creates a meaningful dialogue between artists, galleries and collectors while providing the ultimate platform for established and emerging galleries to reveal their talents. Eighty international galleries, vetted by the Context Selection Committee, exhibit highlights from their gallery programs, solo artist exhibitions and curated projects.

Context, along with the 25th edition of Art Miami, commences on December 2, 2014, with the sister fair's highly anticipated Opening Night VIP Preview to benefit the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). The 2013 preview attracted 13,600 collectors, curators, artists, connoisseurs and designers, and the fair hosted a total of 72,500 attendees over a six-day period.

After Miami’s exhibit, Lyle O. Reitzel continues his tour internationally, invited to participate at Arco Madrid 2015 Contemporary Art Fair with the young Dominican artist Hulda Guzmán in the ‘Focus Latinoamérica’ section, supporting emerging art that has quality with language and a universe of its own.
