We are delighted to announce 'Nicola Green: A Selection of Work' by local artist Nicola Green at Jealous North. Curated by Jealous Gallery, the exhibition will include one-off and previously unseen works form her most well known projects; Olympic Portrait, In Seven Days..., and The Body, plus a new silkscreen print entitled 'Feet' published by Jealous for this exhibition.

Green is an English portrait artist who rose to prominence in the late 1990s, earning international acclaim for her keen ability to draw out the essence of her subject, whether observing an individual or wider social and cultural issues.

Green followed Barack Obama on his 2008 presidential campaign for 'In Seven Days...', culminating in the creation of seven new screenprint works and one-off pieces. In 2011 Green was commissioned by Haringey Council and the Cultural Olympiad to make a portrait of the Olympics. The final product was a series of images of the 24 Olympic sports on different Quasar frames, which Green invented for this work, which glow using existing natural light.

Green graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland in 1998 with a Distinction in Master of Fine Arts (MFA) following a First Class Honours degree in Drawing and Painting (BA).

Please join us for the private view evening next Tuesday 24th November, 6-8pm.

The exhibition runs from 21st - 29th November at Jealous North, 27 Park Road, Crouch End.
