Levis Fine Art presents an online exhibition: The New York School (1940's -1980's ).

This exhibition celebrates the strong and unique voice of a few of the artists who fled to New York during the war years.

Inspired by their peers, patrons, surroundings, and feeling of freedom they were released from the constraints and expectation to use their talents to "record" what they saw.

This became the catalyst for what became known as Abstract Expressionism - Art that reflected an artists authentic voice.

De Kooning, Stamos, Dehner, Plate, Di Rivera, Resnick and other both highly recognized as well as lesser known artists are included in this show.
