Villegas’ creatures are vastly invested in catering to her own sensibilities. They color her stream of consciousness and embody raw emotion. As Villegas states “they function as white noise, creating an unsettling quietness that serves to relieve personal anxieties, lamentations, and impending dooms.”

The creatures themselves are utterly foolish and remain remote, while suggestive and sensational, serving as avatars for delving into idiosyncratic situations. They exist in the crevices between space, emptiness, and nothingness.
