The 68th edition of the Venice Film Festival, directed by Marco Müller, has the aim of promoting the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. The Festival includes retrospectives and homages to major figures as a contribution towards raising awareness of the history of cinema.

The festival showcases some of the world’s great filmmakers, including premieres of “The ides of March” (opening film) by George Clooney; “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” by Tomas Alfredson; A dangerous method” by David Cronenberg; “Wuthering Heights” by Andrea Arnold and many others.

Four International Juries will assign the official awards of the 68th Venice Film Festival for the following categories: Venezia 68, Orizzonti, Controcampo Italiano, “Luigi De Laurentiis” Award for a debut film.
