Printed Matter, the world’s greatest source for artists’ publications, will present the sixth annual New York Art Book Fair, at MoMA PS1, in Long Island, Queens. The event will run from September 30th through October 2nd, 2011, with a preview on the evening of Thursday, September 29th, 2011.
Free and open to the public, it will feature over 200 exhibitors from 20 countries; the exhibition represents the world's biggest event for artists’ books, contemporary art catalogs, and art periodicals. Exhibitors include international presses, booksellers, antiquarian dealers, artists, and independent publishers from more than twenty countries.
The New York Art Book Fair will also incorporate special projects, screenings, book signings, and performances, throughout the weekend. The Classroom, which is made of artist-led workshops, readings, and discussions, along with the fifth annual Contemporary Artists’ Books Conference, will motivate and engage visitors in lively conversation throughout the weekend.
As the majority of people who live mostly in a world of pixels and Web sites, Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair feels innovative and as a breath of fresh air.
