Emirates announces renewal of Olympiacos sponsorship
Emirates announced on the 8th of December the renewal of its sponsorship with Olympiacos FC.
The airline will partner with the club for another two seasons, highlighting its ongoing commitment to Greece and to sports around the world.
The renewal will include the recognisable ‘Fly Emirates’ signage displayed at the Karaiskaki stadium, the home of Olympiacos, as well as promotional and hospitality rights. The announcement comes after Tuesday’s bout with Arsenal, Emirates’ biggest football club, at the UEFA Champions League Match in Athens.
Olympiacos is the most successful club in Greek football history, having won 38 League titles, 24 Greek Cups and 4 Greek Super Cups. The club also has a fan base of almost two and a half million fans in Greece alone.

The Emirates Olympiacos sponsorship is yet another example of significant investment the Greek market. The airline has carried 900,000 passengers in the last five years, fostering trade and tourism connections between the UAE and Greece. According to the Hellenic Business Council in Dubai, despite the challenges of the global economic downturn, the value of Greek exports to the UAE has risen by over 27 percent in 2010, compared to a similar period in 2009 with a total of €137 million.
The belly hold capacity on Emirates’ Boeing A330-200 – about 15 tonnes - supports key Greek exports to the UAE including telecommunications equipment, ship parts, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Emirates flies daily to Athens, using an Airbus 330-200 in a three class configuration. EK105 departs Dubai at 1005hrs and arrives in Athens at 1320hrs. EK 106 leaves Athens at 1550hrs and arrives in Dubai at 2205hrs.
