Patrick Parrish Gallery is pleased to present "The Year of the Circle", the first solo exhibition in the United States of new sculptural work by Danish designer Kasper Kjeldgaard. Kjeldgaard, who was trained as a furniture maker, uses the languages of sculpture, architecture and furniture to broaden the definition of design.

In "The Year of the Circle", Kjeldgaard investigates the circle as a basic principle for giving shape, with careful attention the the stages of time and its influence on objects. With materials like hand-turned brass, cotton string, beeswax, and folded paper, Kjeldgaard crafts a network of suspended, circulating forms and kinetic objects designed to activate the ‘poetic universe’.

Kasper Kjeldgaard studied furniture design at the Royal School of Design and Architecture in Copenhagen. He lives and works in Århus, Denmark.
