Feuer/Mesler is pleased to present EvilActivity123, an exhibition of new work by Jane Corrigan.

In EvilActivity123, Corrigan presents a series of recent paintings worked from her own quick sketches. The predominantly female characters are familiar, re-appearing from previous works, and unfamiliar, re-invented with new plots and storylines.

Fresh narratives and sequences are fashioned into a kind of comic book impressionism. Characters appear to sit somewhere in the 1960s, but also present historical references that makes their exact time period hard to place. Corrigan references the girl wonder detective Nancy Drew next to demons and entities, catching moments that are imaginative, intuitive and intimate.

Jane Corrigan (b.1980) received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and her MFA from SUNY Purchase. She lives and works in Hamilton Ontario. She has had solo exhibitions at White Columns, Kerry Schuss and Retrospective.
