Bruce Silverstein Gallery is pleased to present Monochrome, an exhibition including works by Alfred Leslie, Barbara Morgan, Louise Nevelson, Man Ray, Aaron Siskind, Frederick Sommer and John Wood.

Comprised primarily of unique works spanning the post-war era through the late 20th century across several art forms, Monochrome is an exploration of contrast; the diffused and at times sharp edge that exists between darkness and light.

The dialogues that unfold illuminate the formal elements, the very building blocks of visual art—scale, texture, form—which take precedence in the absence of color.
