The Taj Art Studio Gallery, located in the Historical Hartwick Heights of Eagle Rock, Los Angeles has its grand opening on Saturday, December 3rd at 6pm.

The opening exhibit will highlight the works of Lillian Abel titled Past and Present. Live music will be performed by Tisa Adamson and Tony Selvage.

Lillian Abel has exhibited in New York City & Los Angeles and internationally in Poland & Cambodia. Lillian’s paintings are an exploration of the space between abstraction and representation. They are abstracted by the palette knife, searching for hidden worlds and images in the paint that reveal on the picture plane.

Her mono-prints were created in Italy during the 1990's, her use of a visual element depicts the sacred passageway of life and fertility, is seen repeated in shapes as a theme. Colors range from textured black to explosive neon. The strong link to life and the sacred self is represented in these mono-prints, as well as in her sculptures. Nature carries these themes as represented in various forms, seen as tangible and abstracted in her dark-rose colored sculptures.

Public Art and Commissions include: Hawthorne Police Department, Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City and the Casino Aztar in Evansville Indiana.
