Cameron Robbins’ major solo exhibition Remote Alignments opens at Mars Gallery on 21 October. Utilising all three levels of gallery space and the newly completed rooftop sculpture space, Remote Alignments includes wind drawings, long exposure photographs and the hand-made mechanical instruments that the artist uses to devise these works.

In ‘Remote Alignments’, Cameron Robbins makes tangible the underlying rhythms of natural forces and transcribes the landscape as an archive of time and place. This is Cameron Robbins’ first major solo exhibition in Melbourne since his acclaimed ‘Field Lines’ exhibition at Mona, Hobart, in 2016.

Cameron Robbins’ lives and works in Melbourne. His practice, influenced by wind, tides and magnetic fields, focuses on interpreting these natural phenomena. For the past 25 years Robbins has produced site-specific installations and performance events in art galleries, disused buildings and outdoor sites around Australia.
