Using the 1972 work Ping Pong and its subsequent donation by the artist to the M HKA as starting point for this exhibition, Belgian artist Philippe Van Snick brings together works from different periods. The title of the exhibition refers, on the one hand, to this work and, on the other, to the dynamics that are inherent to his oeuvre.

Van Snick's works are characterised by forms that evince a close affinity with Minimalism. His works are closely linked to the notion of space and the physical experience of the viewer in a concrete space. He uses a decimal system, as well as a simple and delimited visual vocabulary that consists of conceptual photography, mathematics, fragile sculptures and his own 10-color palette.

With these means, Philippe Van Snick creates abstract worlds governed by bipolar fundamental forces, such as night and day, order and chaos.
