Walter Wickiser Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of recent paintings by Roseline Koener, from October 28th to November 22nd, 2017.

Magical Colors Emerging from the Soul will feature nearly 30 works by Koener, including paintings on handmade paper and sculptures made with recycled textiles cones. Roseline Koener, a New York based artist, is passionate about colors, nature, music and exoticism. Koener was born near Brussels, Belgium, where she studied classical European art. However, wishing to be free from the constraints of tradition, a sojourn to Africa in 1982 became a turning point in Koener’s career where she was inspired from the energy of the people and vibrancy of the colors.

“I combine certain colors together that call me out and complement and enhance each other. Some are louder, some are more silent, and some are unifying or breaking. It takes time for colors to unleash their full bright and radiant potential energies. Something happens when they begin to sing to each other, and new spaces are formed,” says Koener.
