For the last three decades, Mirang Wonne has embodied natural forms in unexpected mediums. She primarily uses industrial materials that paradoxically amplify the organic intensity of those forms, capitalizing on their physical and optical peculiarities.

Wonne's paintings and screens are comforting in their organic warmth and intriguing in their other worldliness. Her blending of high tech materials with traditional art practices-flame on stainless steel mesh layered with paint, gold leaf and charcoal on paper-creates images which are unpredictably subtle and intimate.

Mirang Wonne's artwork has been collected and exhibited in private and public collections worldwide including the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, Stanford Cancer Center South Bay, the Sungkok Museum in Seoul, South Korea and the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris.
