Bright Hours refers to something past – an uncertain place that does not exist, something fragile and indefinite. The project is based on Karl Henrik Edlund's journeys to the Arctic North, Kola Peninsula and Nenets Autonomous Okrug in northwest Russia in 2008–2013. The series also contains photographs from Edlund's everyday life in Saint Petersburg and the Åland islands.

Bright Hours has also been published as a book (Journal, 2016). It was selected as one of five finalists shortlisted for The Finnish Photobook Award 2017.

Karl Henrik Edlund (b. 1987) is a photographer based in Helsinki and Åland islands, Finland. He has studied photo journalism in Sweden at Nordens Fotoskolan and film art at University of Göteborg's Akademin Valand.
