Gagosian is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by Rudolf Stingel.

Rudolf Stingel was born in 1956 in Merano, Italy and lives in New York and Merano. Collections include the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Tate Modern, London; Museion - Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bolzano, Italy; MAXXI - Museo Nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, Rome; the de la Cruz Collection Contemporary Art Space, Miami; and the Pinault Collection.

Institutional exhibitions include Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Palazzo delle Albere, Italy (2001); “Home Depot,” Museum für Moderne Kunst (MMK), Frankfurt am Main (2004); “Plan B,” Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2004, traveled to Grand Central Terminal, New York); Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2006); “Paintings 1987–2007,” Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2007, traveled to the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York); “Rudolf Stingel, Live,” Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin (2010); Secession, Vienna (2012); and Palazzo Grassi, Venice (2013–14). His work was included in the 45th Biennale di Venezia (1993); 50th Biennale di Venezia (2003); and Whitney Biennial (2006). In 2008, Stingel received second place for Best Monographic Museum Show Nationally by the U.S. Art Critics Association for the 2006–07 season.
