The installation juxtaposes eight 19th century clocks from M.S. Rau’s collection with Lasch’s Black Mirrors, metaphorically collapsing time.

As viewers study their and the clocks’ reflections, ghostly images gradually emerge from the dark glass. These images depict unique representations of the concept of time from across history. Each mirror focuses on different areas of knowledge, including astronomy, painting, science, photography, and media.

The setup allows the viewers’ image to merge with those of the mirrors, integrating stories across centuries and worldviews.
