Veteran British Pop artist David Spiller returns to New York for the first time in decades. His solo exhibit "David Spiller: Back in New York" kicks off the 2018 fine art calendar at Long-Sharp Gallery's New York Project Space, opening on January 31, 2018 at 24 West 57th Street, Midtown Manhattan, Suite 606. The exhibit consists of almost a dozen paintings delivered to New York from Spiller's London studio.

Drawing from graffiti, pop, abstraction and expressionism, and using techniques from each, the 75 year-old artist and student of Frank Auerbach creates clear and strong works which accomplish his essential goal of "making paintings that put some magic on the wall." His works are full of optimism, love, and energy. His use of fragmented song lyrics and stenciled words are painted onto canvases which are then sewn together to compose his instantly identifiable works. In important public and private collections worldwide, David Spiller's highly sought after paintings on canvas will be on exhibit at Long-Sharp Gallery’s New York Project Space through March 3, 2018.

David Spiller is represented in the United Kingdom by Portland Gallery and in Europe by Guy Pieters Gallery. Long-Sharp Gallery is honored to represent David Spiller in the United States.
