Within the framework of the 6th Moscow International Biennale of Young Art, the Tretyakov Gallery, in association with the History Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, presents an exhibition project entitled “Artistry”.

The “Artistry” project is an attempt of young curators to overcome the stylistic and generation gap between artists of different time periods. With that aim, attendees of a special course in curator strategies in modern art suggested that four young authors engage in a dialog with the artistic legacy of Apollinary Vasnetsov (1856–1933), a Russian painter, scholar and researcher of Moscow history. The original works of the young authors who participated in the project were embedded in the exhibition space of the apartment turned museum, — and thus an artistic dialog is born.

The second part of the “Introduction” project, the exhibition “Progress Becoming Obsolete,” is run in the Open Collections area of the Polytechnic Museum.
