The Flat-Massimo Carasi presents Jonathan Vivacqua's first solo show at the gallery. The exhibition focuses on the representation of a space delineated by intersecting trajectories of film that in turn create the illusion of a boundless, dark vibrating mass.

The voluminous form that confronts the visitor’s gaze suggests the reverberating movement of the light-struck waves as they roll in and out on the tide. Thus Vivacqua interprets the structure of the gallery space, enhancing its architectural features and details of its construction, thrusting us towards the dimension of the open sea.

The exhibition also gives form to other elements, including imprints taken from the gallery access ramp – which recall the traces left by waves on the sandy sea floor –, and components that accentuate the variations of light and shadow with which the artist shapes his incredibly personal scenario.
