The third edition of Huxley-Parlour Gallery’s annual exhibition Masters of Photography will include 30 masterworks by leading international photographers.

Over 100 years of photography in all its many genres – documentary, fashion, still- life, conceptual and portraiture are represented in the exhibition. The individual works have been chosen due to the provenance of the print or the image’s role in the history of the medium.

Highlights include Richard Avedon’s landmark fashion image, Dovima with Elephants, 1955, whilst the earliest work on show is a vintage print of German photographer August Sander’s Familie Eichelhardt, c. 1913. Another significant vintage print is by David Goldblatt, one of the most significant South African photographers of all time. These vintage prints will be contrasted with leading names in contemporary photography including Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto, Israeli Ori Gersht, alongside Candida Höfer, Thomas Ruff and Thomas Struth representing the Düsseldorf School.
