To mark The Dot Project’s new exhibition programme, as it embarks on an alternative trajectory of showcasing artists within a domestic interior rather than the traditional gallery space, we are proud to announce the first solo presentation of works on paper by Cristina BanBan.

Complimentary of BanBan’s distinct aesthetic of beautifully exaggerated female forms, ‘My Dear Demons’ provides an opportunity for its spectators to examine and contextualise their own anxieties. Faced with a selection of recognisable demons; fighting our own thoughts, doubts, insecurities as well as social and personal pressures we are faced with on a day to day basis. These somewhat autobiographical works document an exciting point in BanBan’s career whereby she has been able to embrace and enjoy the freedom that drawing elicits – finding its spontaneous process cathartic.

Since exhibiting with The Dot Project back in November 2017 as part of the exhibition ‘Candy’, BanBan has continued to evolve in practice and recognition within the emerging contemporary art scene. Now represented by Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, BanBan has been exhibiting Internationally. Her works have been shown at Art Brussels and were recently included in The Hole’s group show ‘Extra’, where her canvas Sunset con la Chicas (2018) was included alongside artists that include George Rouy, Monica Kim Garaz and Fernando Botero.
