Fisher Parrish Gallery is pleased to present "Animal Interviews", Rhode Island-based artist Zach Martin’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. Martin’s practice articulates the liminal areas—the space between states of existence, art and commodity, object and user, and between familiarity and abstraction. Martin describes this new body of work as “furniture that’s falling apart into art” – perverse sculptures that have a physical presence that is uncannily familiar and inviting, while at the same time unsettling and alien.

Zach Martin (b. 1987, New Jersey) lives and works in Providence, RI and received a BFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. His work has been shown at Fisher Parrish Gallery and 99¢ Plus Gallery in NY, The Pit Gallery in Los Angeles, CA and Plant Seven in High Point, NC.
