Heroes of the UK graffiti scene the ‘ID Crew’ have never followed rules or conventions.

The collective comprises some of the most eclectic and prolific artists with each individual boasting what can be described as their own ‘signature’ style. Formed in 1996 by brothers ‘Shucks’ and ‘Tizer’ the ID crew was started as a collective of friends that they felt were not very well known and underrated. The letters ID after their name gave each member a drive to continually set the bar higher for themselves whilst carving a niche within the scene.

Tizer describes the crew as more of a family, each member looks out for the next and creating art together over the years has strengthened their bond.

This January The Graffiti Life Gallery hosts the opening of their very first crew show and provides a fascinating insight into their individual practices, the way the collective works together and their influence on UK graffiti.

The Graffiti Life Gallery is an independent gallery located in London’s East End, the heart of London’s Street Art scene.

Set up by a collective of graffiti artists and creatives, the gallery supports both it’s in-house artists and independent artists with backgrounds in Graffiti and Street Art.
