Gardens have long been a source of inspiration for artists, acting as muse, studio, gallery or even as an artwork in itself.

The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours are using a section of their annual exhibition to celebrate the garden in all its glory.
Lillias August’s studies of home-grown vegetables nestle amongst bright bouquets of flowers by painters such as Delia Cardnell and Shirley Trevena.

Ian Sidaway explores majestic oaks as well as closely cropped topiary and David Poxon examines the beauty of rusting agricultural machinery and tumbledown garden sheds.

Expect some of the finest examples of contemporary watercolour painting in a diverse range of approaches from members of the Institute and non-members selected for their excellence. All in all over 300 watercolour paintings on a range of subjects will be on display. Prices start from just £300.
