Outside of journalism, Melita is also a voiceover artist, audio producer, EFL teacher, and German-English translator. Every month, she scripts and coordinates the production of Business Spotlight Audio (ZEIT SPRACHEN), an audio product aimed at German-speaking learners of English for business purposes. She also frequently voices audio content and conducts interviews for Business Spotlight Audio. Her voiceover clients include Harper Collins India, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Orso Publishing, Eurosport, the Institute for Education Malta, Goodfella’s Pizza, Arcos Transmedia Ltd., etc. She has a versatile voice, which she is able to adapt to a variety of different scripts and requirements.

Having studied French and German and worked as an EFL teacher and German-English translator for many years, Melita continues to be fascinated by language and communication. She enjoys creative writing, poetry, and language learning and likes encouraging students to reach their full potential.

Melita also has a keen interest in film festivals, international films, and emerging filmmakers. For the past five years, she has worked as an English-language presenter and translator at 20minmax, a short film festival in Ingolstadt, Germany. She has also presented Q&A sessions at the Valletta Film Festival, Malta, and the Crossing the Screen International Film Festival, Eastbourne, UK, in the past. She continues to work closely with Crossing the Screen International Film Festival, which recently rebranded as Eastbourne International Film Festival, where she assists with PR strategy.

The guiding thread throughout all of Melita’s work is her natural curiosity for the world we live in, other cultures, and other modes of communication. Her writing has allowed her to talk to many fascinating people, and she will be forever grateful for the conversations they have had.
