Jeffrey Levett is Director Emeritus, Department of Public Health Management and founding Dean of the National School of Public Health, Athens Greece. He is currently, Professor, International Health and a member of the Executive Board, European Center for Peace and Development, United Nations University for Peace, Belgrade, Serbia. He has worked in the Balkan region for more than three decades and has orchestrated General Assemblies of important organisations in Greece [1992, 2016] and conducted Balkan Public Health Forums [Athens, 1992 and Belgrade, 2001], in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the Council of Europe. He has served as President of ASPHER and as consultant to the Council of Europe/WHO. He helped draft the Dubrovnik Pledge relating to population vulnerability reduction in the Balkans and penned the Skopje Declaration: Public Health, Peace and Human Rights. He has participated in important public health developments in the Balkans, Black Sea Region and in the Eastern Mediterranean.
