The most contemporary part of the museum exhibition is dedicated to the historical development that Pazardzhik underwent in the period from the Liberation of Bulgaria (1878) to the middle of 20th century. Items illustrating the main aspects of the public and economic life of the town are displayed in three connected halls each of which dedicated to specific theme.

The exhibits in the first hall focus the attention to the administrative organization, health care and development of mail and postal services.

In the second hall can be seen various items associated with the characteristic of the period trades, the industrial development of the town, commerce and banking activities. The exhibition in the third hall is dedicated to various educational degrees, professional schools, community educational centres and the cultural life of Pazardzhik.
