This rare work from the early 1960's was created while Hayes was living in France and enjoying a growing friendship with fellow sculptor Alberto Giacometti. The two spent a good deal of time together while Hayes lived in France and visits to Giacometti's studio undoubtedly influenced Haye's work. David Hayes was awarded The Logan Medal of the Arts for this historic sculpture.
