People are feeling increasingly divided from each other. There is a growing concern about polarization, experiencing opposing opinions between people, groups of people, societies, and nations, and not being able to handle the challenges that come with it.

Fearing the disagreement that arises from those differences. Fearing conflict so you wish to stay in the middle and not make a choice, not choose a side. And if you do, you are ready for the battle to push through it.

For that choice is what you believe in. That choice is what you stand for. Making that choice gets you moving in the direction you prefer.

A direction that is still unknown and uncertain for people. But that direction you prefer is the vision you have in mind and hold onto.

Now, what makes the choice and you acting upon that choice with your will, desire, and determination a choice that leads to a deeper connection to creation and not a choice that leads to more separation? For this, we need to understand the principle of polarity, its nature, how we perceive and respond to it, and why we need to polarize, preferably in the direction of more growth, wellbeing, and wealth for all.

In the first essay, I discussed that each being is its own polarity, its own axis of manifestation. An axis with two extremes that carry positive and negative energetic frequencies, like in a magnet.

Polarity is always seeking the balance between the extreme forces that are at play within. So, they are never in conflict or against both extremes but always in unity, balance, and generation. And like the magnet, it is one whole containing both energies.

So, the positive and negative aren’t opposites. They aren’t value judgments either. They are extremes but they aren’t opposites. That’s a difference.

Positive and negative represent varying degrees:
degrees of the presence or absence of love.
Or also called: the presence or absence of God as love.

(Dr David R. Hawkins)

So, if it is not the polarity that divides, what does? What makes the extreme forces become opposing forces? Creation does not evolve when in perfect balance. Polarity establishes balance through regulating the energies, but in order to move forward, to grow and to evolve, it is naturally always attracted towards a margin of difference: that which is different from itself.

That margin of difference creates a natural point of attraction. That margin of difference is necessary for creating constant growth and evolution.

The brain is naturally always attracted to spaces of differences, for these spaces of differences represent spaces of discovering and exploring more of self, others, life, and the universe.

In that sense, our brains are wired for conflict. The brain seeks conflict.

Conflict is not negative or positive. It’s neutral. It’s how we perceive this conflict and handle the challenges that come from conflicting energies that make it seem negative. But conflict simply is neutral.

Thus, polarity does not divide. Duality is what divides.

Duality arises from perception. It is seeing a limited perspective of what is, what is its true nature but can’t see yet, can’t perceive from its whole being yet, can’t understand yet.

Polarity is the law or principle that establishes that the regulation is evolution in balance but recognizes that without any margin for error, or erratic movements, there will be no evolution. Because without conflict, no options arise from the mind and, for this reason, it needs the duality as a way to find those options.

(Matias De Stefano)

Like Adam and Eve, with the proverbial bite in the apple, we see and experience life through the eyes of brain perception only and create separation within our being. This is only a temporary illusion, for we have just forgotten that the tree on which the apples grow is still in the Garden of Eden. It has never left.

We even have forgotten that we are the tree that grows the apples, creating apples over and over again, creating all of the colors of the rainbow, creating all of the knowledge and diversity from the tree that “apples”, as the philosopher Alan Watts explains and brings back that wonder of creation.

So, when we continue our contemplation and reasoning from there on, we know:

Where polarity is the quality of being an axis,
duality is the quality of being two things.

Within polarity, these positive and negative aspects attract each other,
whereas in duality, they repel each other.

In polarity, these forces work with each other,
whereas in duality, these forces work against each other.

Duality is an experience of a limited perception through a limited perception. And what is perceived through duality is almost always perceiving things as separate, as divided, these divided things opposing each other, generating conflict between people, groups of people, cultures, and nations.

And we want to escape the duality, that feeling of separateness, so we indulge ourselves in a tiny, finite pleasure, hoping to close the gap of disconnection. For that is what we truly long for: to close that gap of disconnection.

We long for connection in all that we are, in all that we do, in all our endeavors, whether they be with ourselves, with family and friends, in our romantic and sexual relationships, chasing the satisfaction of a temporary connection and feeling of wholeness and thinking: “That’s it. That’s life!”

But, in the questions we discover within that arise from us, we see the faith that there must be more. Deep within us, we know there is more—that there must be more to self, life, and the universe.

That is what faith is: ‘that inner knowing that is within all of us that there is more, there must be more than what I am experiencing now.’ That is within all of us.

Faith has nothing to do with religion. Religion is one of the means of finding out and discovering that more of self, more of others, and more of the universe. And science does that in its own way.

So, from our desire for more and that faith within our being that there is and must be more, we discover questions within our being. And the moment we start asking those questions, formulating them, that is when we build reason.

Reason is not something you can possess. You build reason through learning, in the search for new options, in you asking for questions about: “What more might there be that is within me, that is within all of creation?” That is when you start to build reason, from the Latin ‘reris,’ which means ‘thought’ and ‘-tio’ which means ‘action.’ So ‘retionis’ would be ‘the act of thinking.’

Children do that naturally, always seeking and learning more about self, life, nature, and creation. Because that is their nature.

You cannot have reason. Rather, it is a faculty to make use of, to pass on the patterns of your own reason, to share it with others, to compare lines of reasoning.

So, you integrate what you have learned, using discernment as to what matches and does not match with your higher beliefs, thereby transcending your own patterns of reason, which naturally leads to the expansion of consciousness.

And so, in the same way, you will transform and transcend other people’s patterns of reason to see things from another perspective, one that has a great potential to alter perceptions. Perceptions that no longer are of benefit, that limit progress, a part one was unaware of to become aware of.

And from here to conclude my contemplation with the following thought:

Polarity is a natural aspect within our being.
It is not something you can turn on or off or run away from.
It is something to become aware of and to make use of to your advantage.
It is a matter of knowing how to observe, analyze, and handle polarity with acuity.
It is a strategy game.

Becoming so skilled at balancing and uniting the polarities within your being, using it as a skill to move beyond your limits and what you know life to be, always more. How far can you go? How far can you stretch those boundaries? That is what German musician and composer Nils Frahm shows in his iconic piano piece called “Toilet Brushes.”

“How far can I comprehend that space of abundance to be?” is what I ask myself when listening to this piece. It’s as though through his creative expression, I am being shown a space of experience and taken to his boundaries that are stretched far into the depth of his being, all through feeling it.

Another color on the color palette of abundance to remember how that space of abundance, a space of experience, can feel within your being, and feeling the limitations of it, feeling them stretched, feeling them dissolving. All these experiences and variations of feelings that you’ll learn about yourself that are within you to become aware of, to remember, and to treasure.
