The museum now has a new welcome area, where visitors can have a bit of fun, get something to drink and get a free souvenir from the museum. It also has an exhibition called "Hola Caracola" with a dozen molluscs taken from a collection of more than 2000 specimens.

For example, did you know that there is a mollusc, the F Conidae, whose poison is 17 times more fatal that that of a cobra, but 10000 more effective than morphine? Or that in some cultures, such as native Australian or African ones, they used to give 60,000 shells in exchange for a wife?

You'll find out about all these quirky facts at the exhibition, whilst getting a free souvenir, grabbing a coffee or reading a newspaper.
